ANZ in New Zealand

ANZ was established in 1840, making us New Zealand's oldest bank. Today, we are part of ANZ National Bank Limited, the largest full-service bank in the country, with more than one million customers in New Zealand. We were also the first bank in New Zealand to provide multilingual ATMs, offering our Asian customers a choice of English, Chinese, Korean or Japanese languages.

Transfer money into your new account

Once your ANZ account is set up, you can transfer money into it whenever you like. That way, you'll have easy access to cash when you arrive in New Zealand. To transfer funds, simply make an International Money Transfer from your home country. You can transfer up to the equivalent of NZ$1 million into your new ANZ account(s) before you arrive in New Zealand (the SWIFT code is ANZBNZ22). If you wish to transfer more, please contact the Migrant Services Unit. (Unfortunately, we cannot accept cash or cheque payments until you arrive in New Zealand.)

The bank you will be transferring funds from will be able to advise you on the International Money Transfer process and the fees they charge in connection with the transfer. ANZ may charge a standard fee to accept an inward International Money Transfer payment. To find out if this applies to you, contact nzmigrantbanking@anz.com.

To withdraw or transfer money from your new ANZ account, you will need to activate it by visiting an ANZ branch in New Zealand and satisfying the identification and signing authority requirements.
