Q. How much can I borrow?
A. Most of us have a wish list of things we'd love to buy. But we don't always have the savings, or spare cash to simply go out and buy them.

With an ANZ Personal Loan or ANZ Debt Consolidation Loan, you can apply to borrow any amount from $3,000.

If you need less than $3,000 then an ANZ credit card may be more suitable for you.

Q. How long can I take out a loan for?
A. Your loan can be repaid over terms ranging from just one year to seven years for ANZ Personal Loans and two years to seven years for ANZ Debt Consolidation Loans, depending on the purpose of the loan. However, loans for tax payments have a maximum term of 12 months.

Q. What can I use my ANZ Personal Loan for?
A. You can use an ANZ Personal Loan to pay for just about anything under the sun. Travel, a stereo, home improvements, a new car - it's your loan so it's up to you what you do with the money!

Q. What are the criteria for being approved for an ANZ Personal Loan or Debt Consolidation Loan?
A. The amount you can borrow is subject to ANZ lending criteria and depends on your income, your current expenses and how much you can afford to pay. Q. What if I'm self-employed?
A. Please provide copies of your last two years' balance sheets/annual accounts and profit and loss statements, and copies of your personal tax return.

Q. How long do I have to wait to get the answer on my application?
A. Usually we can give you a decision within 24 hours (if you have applied on a business day).

Q. How soon can I get the money if I'm approved?
A. Once you have signed your loan documents, your money will be available straight away.

Q. How can I make payments?
A. To avoid having to write out cheques or make cash deposits, we recommend setting up a regular Automatic Payment (AP) to make the repayments on your loan.

Q. Can I repay the loan early, and if so, will I save money?
A. If you have an ANZ Personal Loan or ANZ Debt Consolidation Loan you can:

  • increase your regular repayment
  • make extra lump sum repayments
  • pay off your whole loan at any time...

...all at no extra cost.

You have control over your loan repayments, the opportunity to pay off your loan sooner, and reduce your total interest payments.

Q. Do you offer insurance in case I lose my job or get sick?
A. Loan Protection Insurance gives you the comfort in knowing that your minimum loan repayments are covered should you:

  • be made redundant
  • be declared bankrupt
  • be unable to work because of disability
  • die (to a maximum of $50,000).

    A premium is payable, and terms, conditions, exclusions and limitations apply. Call 0800 837 123 for more details or for a copy of the policy document.
