With TXT Banking you can request up-to-date account balances and mini statements on up to three accounts. Mini statements will show the last five to seven transactions on that account. If you'd like to be able to do more with your mobile phone, check out M-Banking as well.
Can I use TXT Banking on more than one phone?
No. Each ANZ customer can only use TXT Banking from one mobile phone.
How many accounts can I access?
You can register up to three of your ANZ accounts for TXT Banking.
I already have TXT Banking - can I get M-Banking as well?
Of course, but your phone will need to be Java-enabled to use M-Banking. Simply call 0800 ANZ MOBI, or visit any ANZ branch, to register for M-Banking too.
To be able to use TXT Banking you'll need a phone that can send and receive text messages. If you're unsure, check our online list of compatible phones at anz.co.nz, or call us on 0800 ANZ MOBI.
What if I get a new phone?
If you change your handset you'll need to let us know so we can re-programme your TXT Banking access. Call us on 0800 ANZ MOBI.
What if I change my mobile phone number?
If you change your mobile phone number you'll need to let us know. Call us on 0800 ANZ MOBI.
You can register for TXT Banking by calling 0800 ANZ MOBI, or by visiting any ANZ branch. You'll need to have an ANZ Phone Direct or ANZ Internet banking Customer Registration Number. If you are not already registered for ANZ Phone Direct or ANZ Internet Banking, we'll sign you up when you call.
Can I use ANZ Mobile Phone Banking even if I don't use ANZ Phone Direct?
You must be registered for ANZ Phone Direct or ANZ Internet banking before you can register for ANZ Mobile Phone Banking.
What if my account requires two or more signatories?
You can still use TXT Banking to receive balances and mini statements.

No matter what the reason, simply call 0800 ANZ MOBI for a new activation code, or visit any ANZ branch.
Will my activation code expire?
Your activation code is valid for five days. If you don't use it during this time it will expire. If this happens, just call us on 0800 ANZ MOBI, or visit any ANZ branch, for a new activation code.
What if I enter the wrong activation code?
You have three chances to enter your activation code. If you get it wrong on the third attempt your ANZ Mobile Phone Banking access will be suspended. If that happens you'll need to call 0800 ANZ MOBI, or come into any ANZ branch, to get a new activation code.
What if If've lost or forgotten my activation code?
Simply call 0800 ANZ MOBI, or visit any ANZ branch, and we'll resend you a text message along with a new activation code.
Can anyone else use my activation code on their phone?
No. Your activation code is only valid when it's used with the phone number you registered for ANZ Mobile Phone Banking.
Simply text BAL to 880 to get your account balances.
Are account balances in real time?
Yes. All account balances are in 'real time' which means that they take into account all transactions made out of and into your account, right up to the time you request your account balance. Remember though, that any transactions made after 10.30 pm will not be processed until the next business day.
How do I know if my account balance is in debit or credit?
If your account is in debit a "" sign will appear after the account balance. If it is in credit, no sign will appear after the account balance.
How long does it take to get an account balance using TXT Banking?
You should get a response almost immediately after you text your account balance request. There may be short delays when network usage is higher than usual.
Simply text STMT 1, STMT 2 or STMT 3 to 880 to get a mini statement for any of your three accounts.
Are mini statement transactions in real time?
Yes. All mini statements are in 'real time' which means that they take into account all transactions made out of and into your account, right up to the time you request your account balance.
How do I know if a transaction is a debit or a credit in the mini statement?
A debit sign ("") will appear after each withdrawal from your account. A credit sign ("+") will appear after each deposit into your account.
How many transactions will I see on my mini statement?
Your mini statement will show your current account balance, plus the last five to seven transactions for that account. The exact number will depend on the make and model of your handset as well as the size of the transactions and balances shown.
How long does it take to get a mini statement using TXT Banking?
You should get a response almost immediately after you text your mini statement request. There may be short delays when network usage is higher than usual.
If you lose your phone and would like to suspend your TXT Banking access, please call us on 0800 ANZ MOBI or visit any ANZ branch.
What should I do if my phone is stolen?
If your phone is stolen we recommend that you suspend your TXT Banking access. To do this please call us on 0800 ANZ MOBI or visit any ANZ branch.
Can someone else report my phone lost or stolen?
Yes. For your security, we will suspend your ANZ Mobile Phone Banking service as soon as anyone reports your phone lost or stolen. Please note that you will continue to be charged while your service is suspended.
Does it cost more to have both TXT Banking and M-Banking?
No. The monthly fee for ANZ Mobile Phone Banking is $2.00, whether you have TXT Banking, M-Banking or both.
Is ANZ Mobile Phone Banking included in the $5 Everyday Account fee?
No. All ANZ Mobile Phone Banking fees are additional to the $5 Everyday Account monthly fee. Please see the Mobile Phone Banking brochure for full pricing information.
How do I pay my Mobile Phone Banking fees?
All Mobile Phone Banking fees are automatically deducted from your 'billing account', that is, the first account listed when you access TXT Banking or M-Banking. Fees will be charged on the key date of your billing account.
What happens if I close my billing account?
If you close this account you will no longer be able to use ANZ Mobile Phone Banking.
Can I change my billing account?
Yes. You can change your billing account at any time by calling 0800 ANZ MOBI, or visiting any ANZ branch. If you close your billing account, you will no longer be able to use ANZ Mobile Phone Banking.
Will I still be charged the $2 monthly fee if I stop using ANZ Mobile Phone Banking?
Yes. You need to contact us to de-register from ANZ Mobile Phone Banking if you no longer wish to use the service.
Can I use ANZ Mobile Phone Banking on all networks?
ANZ Mobile Phone Banking will work on all New Zealand mobile phone networks, including Telecom, Vodafone and Telstra Clear.
What will I be charged?
Your Telco provider will charge you for any text messages you send.
Aren't text messages covered by my 'free TXT' plan?
No. You will be charged the normal text message fee by your mobile provider. TXT Banking texts are business-to-business texts they are not covered by your Vodafone or Telecom contact plan.
