With just a few simple systems, it’s easy to work out how much money you have, where you have it and where you’re spending it – and then use this information to get your finances under control.

For example:

  • by writing down how much you spend each month (and on what), you can see where your money’s going
  • you can compare this with how much money comes in every month – are you happy with the difference?

If you’d like to make changes, you can use this information to identify your unnecessary expenses, find ways to cut them down or out, and build up your savings – so your money’s working the way you want it to.

Are you getting what you need from your everyday bank accounts?

If you are not – or if you’d just like to make sure you are – it’s a good idea to check them every now and again. Remember, ANZ offers a wide range of accounts, so if one account doesn’t suit you right now, we’re bound to have another one that does!

For example, you may want:

  • 24-hour access to your money
  • a competitive interest rate
  • the ability to make lots of EFTPOS and ATM transactions at little cost
  • a cheque book
  • an overdraft for those cash flow emergencies
  • a special-purpose account, such as one that’s specially designed for students, graduates or 11 - 18 year olds.

To find out if your accounts are right for you, choose one of two options:

  1. Call us on 0800 ANZ 2 YOU (0800 269 296) anytime, 24 hours a day. We’ll be happy to talk over your requirements and, if you wish, change your accounts.
  2. Call in to any ANZ branch and talk things over with an ANZ consultant. If you decide to change your accounts, they’ll organise it on the spot.

For more information, take a look at our everyday accounts or send us an enquiry. We’ll get back to you soon!

Do your banking how and when it suits you top

Today, everyday banking is easier than ever before. ANZ has developed multiple banking channels where you can conduct your banking on the go, banking via phone or banking online.

Banking on the go

Your ANZ Night & Day card makes it easy to bank and buy when you’re out and about – and using it reduces the fees you might pay for transactions at ANZ branches.

If you need cash or want to check your balance or move some money around, just visit an ATM. ANZ has more than 300 ATMs throughout the country, and you can also use National Bank ATMs in New Zealand free of charge.

Ready to shop? Use your card at EFTPOS machines and the payment will go straight from your account to the retailer. You may also be able to use EFTPOS machines to get cash.

If you’re looking for personal service, just call in to any ANZ branch – you'll find us nationwide.

Simplify your banking top

Everyday banking should be simple – so if yours is getting complicated, it could be time to change. You’ll save time and hassles, and could save money too!

For example:

  • if you have accounts you don’t use, close them, so you don’t keep paying unnecessary fees,
  • if you have a number of debts – personal and home loans, credit cards, store cards etc – it may be a good idea to combine them into one loan at the lowest possible interest rate. It’ll be easier to manage, you’ll pay less in interest and you could save on fees. ANZ lending criteria and fees apply.
