Most businesses don't set out to break the law. But an accidental breach of an Act or regulation could result in a fine large enough to cripple your business.
With ANZCover Statutory Liability Insurance your business has protection against the costs of unintentional breaches of specified New Zealand legislation. You're insured for a fine or reparation imposed for a strict liability offence, as well as statutory damages you are liable to pay under the Privacy Act and the Human Rights Act.
You should be aware that this policy does not cover offences under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, or other offences for which insurance is prohibited.
You're also covered for the legal costs and expenses of defending a complaint, even if you're acquitted, and we'll pay your legal costs if you're involved in an official investigation.
